Cyclists in the Cromer area will have the chance to boost their security at a bike marking event.
Officers from Cromer safer neighbourhood team will be marking cycles for free on Saturday 5 October between 10am and 4pm at Halfords, Holt Road, Cromer.
The event aims to reduce bike thefts by making them less attractive to a thief and easier for police to identify and return to the owners if it is stolen and recovered.
Cyclists can take simple steps to help protect their property, including:
- Use a lock to secure the bike-stand, wheel rim and frame together.
- Never leave your cycle unlocked in a public place even for a minute!
- Find a suitable location to leave and secure your cycle dark alleys, drain-pipes and posts are all best avoided.
